Counter Sales Representative

Job Summary

Hog Slat, Incorporated, the world’s leading provider of parts, equipment and turn‑key construction to the swine & poultry industries, is seeking a Counter Sales Representative for its Taylorsville, NC retail location. The ideal candidate prefers previous poultry/hog farming industry experience but is willing to be trained and brings excellent customer service skills.

• Work with retail customers, both in‑store and over the phone, to understand their needs.
• Recommend the best parts & equipment to customers that address their needs.
• Educate customers on new products and special promotions and promote Hog Slat and Grower Select products.
• Operate office equipment, handle cash transactions, and use computer operating systems efficiently.
• Assist with inventory management including unloading the stock truck with a forklift, shelving product, and performing cycle counts.
• Maintain a clean and orderly store with team members.
• Arrive at the store on time and ready to work for all scheduled hours.
• Take advantage of training opportunities offered by the Company and its vendors.
• Continuously upgrade industry knowledge.

• Knowledge of the farming industry and parts/equipment used in modern hog operations.
• Strong customer service experience.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness and ability to obtain forklift certification and operate a forklift regularly.
• Proficiency with E‑mail and Microsoft Office products.
• Quick learning of inventory management software.
• Valid driver’s license.
• At least 1 year working in a modern hog/poultry farming operation (preferred).
• Familiarity with the local hog/poultry industry and producers is a plus.
