Description
The Senior Accountant plays a critical role within the accounting team, supporting day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting. This position contributes across multiple areas of accounting, partners closely with internal stakeholders, and supports the month‑end close process while maintaining compliance with company policies and accounting standards. This position will be working closely with our Controller and CFO.

Job Duties
- Assist in accounting operations for the company, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, bank reconciliation, and tax compliance
- Provide mentorship to accounting staff, fostering a high-performance team environment
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
- Perform monthly balance sheet and account reconciliations
- Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes
- Assist with internal financial reporting and analysis
- Prepare and review invoices, expense reports, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance
- Ensure accounting activities align with GAAP, FAR, and company policies
- Support external audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements
- Identify and recommend process improvements
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support business operations
- Maintain organized accounting records and documentation
- Help with timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and other standards
- Help with preparation of payroll
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Master’s degree in Accounting preferred
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Knowledge around FAR 31 (Federal Acquisition Regulation) is a strong plus
- Knowledge of US GAAP and regulatory requirements is a strong plus
Skills
- Demonstrated expertise in MS Office
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience in handling multiple concurrent tasks and meeting strict deadlines
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries from the business
- Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character and promote ethical business behavior throughout the organization

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 100% of the time
- Constantly communicates with discipline experts, clients, team members, etc. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
