The Utah State Office of Rehabilitation is seeking a motivated and skilled individual to fill the position of Rehabilitation Technician at the Utah Center for Assistive Technology (UCAT), located in Salt Lake City, Utah. This in‑office position is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The individual in this role will support and assist a team of assistive technology specialists who evaluate individuals with disabilities and match them with devices and services to help improve their ability to work, live independently, and increase overall independence.
PrincipleDuties
- Assist with purchasing and processing payments for invoices, ensuring compliance with state purchasing rules, tracking orders, and maintaining inventory records.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for the public and partner agencies regarding UCAT services, including assisting at the building's front desk by greeting visitors, answering calls, and providing support to staff.
- Scan and upload documents into the database system.
- Assist with submitting Social Security reimbursement claims; which requires passing a SSA background check.
- Send survey questionnaires to clients who have completed services for the AT Specialist.
- Assist with arranging and coordinating meetings, conferences, workshops, and travel logistics.
- Collect and compile information from Utah Assistive Technology Team members statewide.
- Manage office operations, including maintaining equipment, ordering supplies, managing records, and creating files.
- Assist with processing authorizations for the Independent Living Program.
- Assist individuals with sensitivity, empathy, and professionalism.
- Knowledge of computer word processing software and automated software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, Google Suite and other software programs.
- Detail oriented and able to work independently.
- Experience working with people with disabilities.
- Able to pass a Social Security background check.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external partners.
