Position: Total Rewards Manager
SUMMARY

Avel eCare is looking for a Total Rewards Manager to help shape the way we attract, reward, and retain our people. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and administering compensation, benefits, recognition, wellness, and reward programs that attract, retain, and engage top talent. This role ensures the organization’s total rewards strategy is competitive, equitable, compliant, and aligned with business objectives and workforce needs.

The Total Rewards Manager partners closely with HR, Finance, and business leaders to build and maintain compensation structures, benchmark market competitiveness, oversee benefits programs, and deliver a comprehensive employee value proposition that supports organizational growth and employee well-being.

General Hours of Work: Monday through Friday (Dayshift)

Reports To: Sr VP People & Culture

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Compensation Strategy & Administration

  • Develop and maintain compensation philosophy and total rewards strategy.
  • Conduct market pricing and benchmarking analyses to ensure competitive pay practices.
  • Design and administer salary structures, pay grades, and compensation programs.
  • Lead annual compensation planning processes, including merit increases and market adjustments.
  • Analyze internal equity and pay practices to ensure fairness and consistency.
  • Partner with leaders and HR on compensation recommendations for new hires, promotions, and retention actions.
  • Support job architecture, career frameworks, and salary grade development.

Benefits Administration

  • Manage employee benefit programs.
  • Partner with brokers, carriers, consultants, and vendors on plan design and administration.
  • Lead annual benefit renewal and open enrollment activities.
  • Analyze plan utilization and costs while balancing employee experience and affordability.

Payroll Administration

  • Provide oversight to the bi-weekly payroll process.
  • Audit payroll transactions, earnings, deductions, garnishments, and benefit enrollments for accuracy.
  • Reconcile payroll records and coordinate resolution of payroll discrepancies.
  • Partner with Finance to reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts.

HRIS Administration

  • Serve as one of the administrators for HRIS, payroll, timekeeping, and employee self-service systems.
  • Maintain employee data integrity through regular audits, validations, and system controls.
  • Configure and support workflows related to hiring, onboarding, job changes, transfers, compensation changes, and terminations.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and collaborate with vendors to resolve technical problems.

Recognition & Employee Well-Being

  • Partner with HR and Talent Development on employee recognition programs that reinforce organizational values and performance.
  • Evaluate and recommend innovative reward and recognition solutions.
  • Support wellness initiatives that improve employee engagement and well-being.
  • Monitor employee feedback and utilization of reward programs.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local compensation and benefits regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, and other applicable requirements.
  • Support benefits-related audits, reporting, and filings.
  • Monitor evolving legislative changes affecting compensation and benefits programs.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Develop dashboards and metrics related to compensation, benefits, turnover, retention, and rewards effectiveness.
  • Provide recommendations based on workforce and market data.
  • Analyze the return on investment for rewards programs.
  • Prepare executive-level reports and presentations.

Leadership & Business Partnership
