Position Summary
The CNC Operator/Programmer is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines. This role requires a hands‑on machinist who is comfortable running machines, performing setups, assisting with tooling, and contributing to continuous improvement in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Independently set up and operate CNC Mill machines and fabrication equipment
- Assist with programming and operation of CNC equipment, including 5‑axis machining
- Load and unload metal materials into CNC mills.
- Perform machine setups, tooling changes, and offsets
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements
- Verify tool and part dimensions using calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, and dial indicators
- Inspect finished products to ensure conformance to quality standards and specifications
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on CNC mills.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Assist with tooling selection, tooling maintenance, and process optimization
- Support inventory tracking and material management as needed
- Collaborate with production, fabrication, and engineering teams to meet production goals
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
- 5‑axis CNC programming experience (preferred)
- Gibbs
CAM programming experience (preferred) - Solid Works 3D modeling experience (preferred)
- Background in CNC tooling, fixturing, and setup optimization
- Experience assisting or performing CNC programming is a strong plus
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 4 years of CNC machine operation experience
- Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes and machining equipment
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry materials
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Enthusiastic about learning new skills, technology, and processes
- Effective time management and task prioritization skills

Tea, SD (right off I‑29)
Work Hours7:00am to 4:30pm Monday – Friday (40hrs + 5hrs overtime per week)
Working Conditions & Workwear Requirements- This position will be working primarily indoors where the work area is heated, but not air‑conditioned.
- You will be working around industrial equipment and the noise level is usually moderate but can be higher in some areas at times.
- You will be required to wear safety boots in accordance with our company policy, DeGeest shirts (provided by the company), safety glasses, earplugs, and appropriate attire for the position - Leathers for welding, gloves, apron, etc.
