Administration of Justice Instructor, Part-time Adjunct Pool - East Kern, Tehachapi

Basic Function- Kern Community College District accepts applications for part‑time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis. This allows the division to contact qualified applicants immediately if a need arises.
- Applications remain active for up to two years.
- Starting salary range is $67.00/hour; hourly rate may vary based on assignment and Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) formula.
- Provide instruction in Administration of Justice courses for Cerro Coso Community College.
- Teaching may occur at other campus sites, day or evening classes, weekend classes, large classes, distance learning, and using multiple teaching methodologies.
- Other duties include: participation in student recruitment and articulation of transfer programs; maintaining subject matter currency; developing and revising curriculum; using computer and multimedia technology; collegial participation in departmental, college, district and discipline‑specific professional activities.
- Bachelor degree and 2 years related professional experience.
- Associate degree and 6 years related professional experience.
- Possession of a valid credential authorizing full‑time teaching of Administration of Justice; or equivalent.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Degrees and credits from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406). Non‑U.S. degrees require evaluation.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues and students of diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to develop curriculum for various modalities.
- Participation in recruitment and articulation activities.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Maintain subject matter currency and assess student learning outcomes.
- Knowledge of computers and willingness to explore new technologies.
- Commitment to the California community college mission.
