Emergency Medical Technologies (EMT) Instructor – Part‑time Adjunct Pool (East Kern, Tehachapi)

Salary Range: $60.00/hr – $60.00/hr (actual pay based on skills and experience)
Responsibilities- Provide instruction in a full range of Emergency Medical Technologies courses.
- Teach at multiple campus sites, including day, evening, and weekend classes, as well as large classes and distance‑learning formats.
- Participate in student recruitment and articulation of transfer programs for the Public Services department.
- Maintain subject‑matter currency and develop or revise curriculum.
- Use computer and multimedia technology to support learning.
- Engage collegially in departmental, college, and discipline‑specific professional activities.
- Any bachelor’s degree AND two years of work experience.
- OR, any associate’s degree AND six years of work experience.
- OR, possession of a valid credential that authorizes full‑time teaching of Emergency Medical Technology at the California Community College level.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community‑college students.
- Degrees and credits from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406) and evaluation of foreign degrees by an approved credentialing service.
- Screening committee reserved the right to limit interview titles; meeting minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview.
- Be a Physician, Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, or Paramedic currently licensed in California; or an Advanced EMT/EMT currently certified in California.
- Have at least two years of academic or clinical experience in emergency medicine or prehospital care within the last five years.
- Be approved by the program director and program clinical coordinator to teach the assigned topics; meet all minimum qualifications outlined in section (e) of the EMT Training Program.
- Work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues in an environment that promotes innovation, teaching, learning, and service to a diverse student population.
- Engage effectively with students of varied skills, motivations, academic, and vocational goals.
- Develop curriculum, including curriculum delivered via different modalities.
- Participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges, and universities.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Maintain subject‑matter currency.
- Assess student learning outcomes.
- Have knowledge of computers and willingness to explore new technologies that would benefit the program.
- Commit to the California community‑college mission.
- Completed Online Application for Employment form.
