Associate Veterinarian – Thrive Pet Healthcare

Position SummaryThis role delivers reliable medical care to pets for their entire lives, from preventive check‑ups to treatment of illnesses and provides the first point of contact when something feels off. You will collaborate with a committed team and maintain thriving client relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive veterinary care, including routine check‑ups, vaccinations, and preventive visits.
- Perform diagnostics such as blood, urine, fecal testing, and imaging (radiology, ultrasound, dental radiology).
- Assist with and, when needed, lead surgical procedures performed in the full surgical suite.
- Communicate clearly with pet owners about health concerns, treatment plans, and preventive advice.
- Participate in mentorship and continuous education within Thrive’s Medical Excellence and Education Department.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Build and nurture long‑term client relationships, becoming the first point of contact when something feels wrong.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent.
- Active state Veterinary Board license in good standing for the state of hire.
- Active DEA license or eligibility for DEA licensure.

CompensationCompetitive base salary starting at $140,000 per year with production compensation opportunities and no negative accrual. Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience.

Tehachapi Veterinary Hospital offers routine check‑ups, vaccinations, non‑urgent illness exams, blood/urine/fecal testing, and limited orthopedics. The practice has a close, experienced team, a high patient volume, and a committed client base. It features an in‑house diagnostic lab, digital radiology (including dental radiology), ultrasonography, and a full surgical suite. The hospital serves the Tehachapi area and surrounding communities, including Golden Hills, Stallion Springs, Heart Flat/Keene, and Bear Valley.
