Experienced Care Assistant – Night Shift

Ocean Healthcare is looking for an experienced Care Assistant to provide 2:1 support for a gentleman in his 60s living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). The role is based in Shaldon, Teignbridge and requires night shifts from 18:45 to 07:00.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing personal care and assistance with mobility using wheelchair and hoist
• Managing airway, tracheostomy and ventilator support; monitoring respiratory status
• Assisting with PEG feeding, colostomy care and other enteral feeding requirements
• Maintaining a consistent routine and ensuring safe, comfortable rest during night shift
• Communicating effectively using eye gaze technology

Qualifications and experience:

• Experience in complex care, airway and respiratory management, and enteral feeding preferred but not essential
• Competent with moving and handling, including hoist transfers
• Good references covering at least 3 years
• Valid UK driving licence and reliable, good communication skills
• Right to work in the UK (no work visa provision)
