Sales Ledger Clerk

We are looking for an organised and detail-oriented Sales Ledger Clerk to support our finance team. You will help maintain accurate customer accounts, prepare invoices, process payments and resolve queries, providing a friendly and professional service to customers and colleagues.

This role would suit someone with experience in sales ledger or accounts receivable who enjoys working with figures, takes pride in accuracy and is comfortable communicating by telephone and email.

• Prepare and issue proforma invoices and credit notes accurately and promptly.
• Record and allocate incoming payments when required.
• Respond to customer account, proof of delivery (POD) and invoice queries by telephone and email.
• Set up new customer accounts.
• Take customer payments over the telephone.
• Post shipments within the business system.
• Maintain filing and assist with general accounts administration.
• Answer incoming calls to the business.
• Provide cover for colleagues and support the wider accounts team when required.

• Experience in a sales ledger, accounts receivable or similar finance role.
• Strong attention to detail and confidence working with figures.
• Clear communication skills and a helpful approach to customer service.
• A confident and professional telephone manner.
• The ability to organise your workload, use your initiative and meet deadlines.
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central would be an advantage but is not essential.
