About The Role

We are seeking to grow our sessional staff at Telford College. As a member of the curriculum team, you will support the delivery of high‑quality education to a diverse student body, helping learners achieve their academic and career goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the department/team with an enthusiastic, dedicated, and proactive approach, utilising a proven record of innovation and teaching experience.
• Demonstrate an understanding and sensitivity for learners’ needs to support their progression and achievement outcomes.
• Apply differentiated and engaging teaching, learning and assessment strategies to enable learners to achieve their potential.
• Regularly review and monitor learner attendance, targets and progress; follow up as required.
• Monitor learners’ progress through diagnostic assessments, ILPs, profile contribution, preparation, marking, effective feedback, progress tracking, exam preparation and appropriate intervention.
• Evaluate and assess formative and summative work, providing timely constructive feedback.
• Maintain quality systems including designing work schemes, lesson plans, assessment plans and activities.

Skills and Expertise

• Proven record of innovative, engaging, learner‑centred teaching, learning and assessment practice.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills at individual and group levels.
• Experience of monitoring learner progress with a proactive approach for support and intervention.
• Team‑working ability, contributing to the development of teaching and learning strategies.
• Self‑initiative and effective workload management.

Qualifications and Training

• Teaching qualification (e.g., Cert Ed, PGCE, DTLLS) or commitment to obtain a Diploma in Education and Training (DET) (desirable).
• Appropriate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
• Level 2 qualification (GCSE A* –
  
  C) in Maths and English.
