About The Role
We are seeking to grow our sessional staff at Telford College. We are looking for staff within their chosen field, who are enthusiastic, skilled, and want to join our team of extremely dedicated colleagues, working in a modern and high‑tech learning environment. As a member of the curriculum team, you will support the delivery of high‑quality education to a diverse student body, helping learners achieve their academic and career goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the department/team with an enthusiastic, dedicated, and proactive approach, utilising a proven record of innovation and teaching experience.
- Demonstrate an understanding and sensitivity for learners’ needs to support their progression and achievement outcomes.
- Apply differentiated and engaging teaching, learning and assessment strategies to enable learners to achieve their potential.
- Regularly review and monitor learner attendance, targets and progress; follow up as required.
- Monitor learners’ progress through diagnostic assessments, ILPs, profile contribution, preparation, marking, effective feedback, progress tracking, exam preparation and appropriate intervention.
- Evaluate and assess formative and summative work, providing timely constructive feedback.
- Maintain quality systems including designing work schemes, lesson plans, assessment plans and activities.
Skills and Expertise
- Proven record of innovative, engaging, learner‑centred teaching, learning and assessment practice.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills at individual and group levels.
- Experience of monitoring learner progress with a proactive approach for support and intervention.
- Team‑working ability, contributing to the development of teaching and learning strategies.
- Self‑initiative and effective workload management.
Qualifications and Training
- Teaching qualification (e.g., Cert Ed, PGCE, DTLLS) or commitment to obtain a Diploma in Education and Training (DET) (desirable).
- Appropriate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
- Level 2 qualification (GCSE A* –
C) in Maths and English.
