Sessional Lecturer – A Level Maths
We are seeking to expand our sessional staff at Telford College. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high‑quality education to a diverse student body, helping learners achieve their academic and career goals.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the department with an enthusiastic, dedicated and proactive approach, utilising a proven record of innovation and teaching experience.
- Demonstrate an understanding and sensitivity to the needs of learners to support their progression and achievement outcomes.
- Apply differentiated and engaging teaching, learning and assessment strategies to enable learners to reach their potential.
- Review and monitor learner attendance, targets and progress regularly, following up as required to ensure outcomes.
- Monitor progress through core duties including initial diagnostic assessments, ILPs, learner profile contribution, preparation, marking, feedback, tracking progress (including Pro Monitor) and exam preparation.
- Evaluate and assess learners’ work (formative and summative) in relation to curriculum criteria, providing timely constructive feedback.
- Maintain quality systems by designing work schemes, lesson plans, assessment plans and activities.
- Proven record of innovative, engaging and learner‑centred teaching, learning and assessment practice.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills at individual and group levels.
- Experience monitoring learner progress and implementing proactive support and intervention, including differentiated teaching.
- Aptitude to work as a team member, contributing to the development of teaching and learning strategies.
- Ability to work on one's own initiative and manage varied workloads effectively.
- Teaching qualification such as Cert Ed, PGCE or DTLLs, or a firm commitment to achieve a Diploma in Education and Training (DET) (desirable).
- Appropriate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
- Level 2 qualification (GCSE A*–C, or equivalent) in Maths and English.
