Sessional Lecturer - A Level Chemistry at WMJobs
We are seeking to grow our sessional staff at Telford College. We are looking for staff within their chosen field who are enthusiastic, skilled and want to join our team of extremely dedicated colleagues, working in a modern and high‑tech learning environment. As a member of the curriculum team, you will support the delivery of high‑quality education to a diverse student body, helping learners achieve their academic and career goals.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the specific department/team with an enthusiastic, dedicated and proactive approach, utilising a proven record of innovation and teaching experience.
- Demonstrate an understanding and sensitivity for the needs of your learners to support their progression and achievement outcomes.
- Apply differentiated and engaging teaching, learning and assessment strategies to enable learners to achieve their potential.
- Regularly review and monitor learner attendance, targets and progress, following up as required to ensure learners reach their potential.
- Monitor learner progress through core duties including initial diagnostic assessments, ILPs, learner profile contribution, preparation, marking, effective feedback, tracking progress (including Pro Monitor) and exam preparation, supporting appropriate intervention.
- Evaluate and assess formative and summative work of learners in relation to the curriculum criteria, providing timely constructive feedback.
- Maintain quality systems, including designing work schemes, lesson plans, assessment plans and assessment activities.
- Possess a proven record of innovative, engaging and learner‑centred teaching, learning and assessment practice enabling all learners to progress.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills at individual and group level.
- Experience monitoring learners' individual progress with a pro‑active approach for support and intervention, including differentiated teaching.
- Ability to work as a team member contributing to the development of teaching and learning strategies.
- Ability to work on own initiative and manage varied workloads effectively.
- Teaching qualification (e.g., Cert Ed, PGCE or DTLLs) or a firm commitment to achieve a Diploma in Education and Training (DET) (Desirable).
- Appropriate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
- Level 2 qualification (GCSE A* – C, or equivalent) in Maths and English.
