Smile Education is recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEN provision based in the Dudley area, for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team.

About the School
This is an independent specialist day school providing high-quality education for boys and girls aged 11–19 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The school is committed to helping young people develop the skills, confidence, and resilience they need to succeed beyond education. Through personalised, inclusive, and engaging learning programmes, pupils are supported to achieve strong educational outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Supporting students in their educational, emotional, and social development
Providing support inside and outside the classroom to enable full engagement in learning
Assisting with setting up activities, using technology and adapting the environment to meet individual needs
Supporting teachers by engaging positively with students and responding appropriately to classroom situations
Working 1:1 with students who require additional time and tailored support
Managing behaviour and building trusting professional relationships with both staff and pupils.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people with behavioural support needs
A good understanding of behaviour management strategies and techniques
Hold, or be willing to work towards, a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification. (UK Qualification is essential)
A patient, resilient, and positive approach with a genuine passion for SEN support
