Role: Level 3 SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Telford
Salary: £84 - £95 per day

An Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ school in Shrewsbury is seeking a dedicated Level 3 SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, committed to raising standards, and have high expectations, working alongside a conscientious, hardworking, and welcoming team. This setting is looking for a Teaching Assistant who shares a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, creating a nurturing environment where children can flourish.

Key Responsibilities as a SEND/SEMH Teaching Assistant:
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support to students with SEND and SEMH needs.
  • Assist in implementing individual learning plans and behaviour strategies.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group interventions to support academic and emotional development.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment to encourage student engagement.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers, parents, and support teams.
  • Support classroom management and behaviour strategies in alignment with school policies.
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who:
  • Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Has experience supporting students with SEND and/or SEMH needs (preferred but not essential).
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Is patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
  • Can work effectively as part of a team.
  • Has knowledge of educational policies, safeguarding, and best practices for SEND and SEMH support.
  • Is committed to the welfare and development of children.
