Cover Supervisor Recruitment – Schools in Telford & Shropshire

Aspire People are seeking confident, committed and adaptable Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in the Telford and Shropshire area. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about education and want to make a real difference in the classroom, supporting pupils' learning in the absence of their regular teacher.

The role involves delivering pre-planned lessons, maintaining a positive learning environment, and ensuring pupils remain engaged and on task. You will be stepping into busy school settings, so the ability to remain calm, organised and proactive is essential.

About the role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Deliver pre-set lesson plans across a variety of subjects
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, maintaining a positive and focused learning environment
  • Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEND needs where required
  • Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff
  • Adapt quickly to different school environments and year groups
  • Support learning continuity during staff absence
What we are looking for

We are looking for candidates who bring professionalism, resilience, and a genuine interest in education. You must have:

  • A minimum of 6 months' experience working within a school setting
  • A degree (essential requirement)
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • A calm, patient, and reliable approach
  • The ability to work well under pressure and solve problems quickly
  • Confidence in supporting pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A flexible and consistent approach to availability, including daily emergency cover and long-term assignments
