Protocol Education is currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school within a large and well-established trust in Telford.
This is a relatively large setting with just under 1,100 students on roll. Being part of a strong educational trust provides access to a wide network of expertise and professional support, while still allowing the individual school to maintain its own identity, supported by an exceptional team of leaders, teachers, and support staff.
The school is seeking an experienced SEN specialist to join its department and provide high-quality support to teaching staff within SEN classes. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting learning, assisting teachers, and contributing to the smooth day-to-day running of the classroom.

Role: Teaching Assistant
Location: Telford
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Start date: September 2026
Qualification: Level 3 Teaching Assistant (unqualified candidates may apply only if they have substantial SEN experience)
The ideal candidate will:- Believe that every student, regardless of background or need, can achieve outstanding progress
- Be rigorous, resilient, determined, creative, and inspirational in their approach
- Use a range of strategies to deliver engaging and purposeful support in the classroom
- Act as a positive role model and advocate for students within the school community
- Build strong, caring relationships with students, staff, parents, governors, professionals, and the wider community
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management, ensuring a positive and structured learning environment
- Be confident supporting pupils with SEND and skilled in differentiating learning within the classroom
- (Desirable) Have knowledge of the AQA exam board and experience supporting GCSE learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
