Lecturer in Games Design & Development Full Time | Permanent | Bournemouth Campus Are you passionate about games design, 3D modelling and emerging digital technologies? Do you want to inspire the next generation of games developers, artists and digital creators? Bournemouth & Poole College is looking for an enthusiastic and industry-informed Lecturer in Games Design & Development to join our thriving Digital and Computing department.
This is an exciting opportunity to share your expertise, shape future talent and help students develop the skills needed to progress into Higher Education and careers within the digital and games industries. About the Role As a Lecturer in Games Design & Development, you will deliver engaging, high-quality teaching across a range of games and digital subjects, with a particular focus on:
Games Design and Development Games Art 3D Modelling Environment Art Contemporary game development technologies You will bring learning to life through industry-standard software, current development practices and project-based delivery, helping students build professional portfolios and develop the technical skills, creativity and confidence needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving sector. Working within a collaborative and supportive team, you will play a key role in delivering outstanding learning experiences, supporting student achievement and contributing to the continued development of an ambitious and forward-thinking curriculum.
What You'll Be Doing Deliver inspiring and inclusive teaching, learning and assessment Teach practical games design, games art and computing using current industry tools and workflows Support students in developing portfolios and project work for university and employment progression Embed professional behaviours, employability skills and industry best practice throughout the curriculum Monitor student progress and implement effective interventions to support achievement Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement initiatives Build links with employers, universities and industry partners to create meaningful opportunities for learners Participate in open events, recruitment activities and wider college initiatives What We're Looking For We would love to hear from you if you have: A degree in Computing, Games Design, Games Development, Computer Science or a related subject Relevant industry experience and/or successful teaching experience Knowledge of Games Design principles, Games Development pipelines, 3D Modelling, Environment Art, Unreal Engine and Blender The ability to engage, motivate and inspire learners from a range of backgrounds Strong communication, organisational and digital skills A commitment to high-quality teaching, student success and continuous improvement A recognised teaching qualification is desirable, although we welcome applications from industry professionals who are willing to work towards one.
