SEND Teaching Assistant

The college is looking for a determined SEND Teaching Assistant/TA with the potential of a permanent position. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant/TA will be confident and adaptable in working with all age students, helping them to meet their milestones and giving them one-to-one support. They will also be well equipped to deal with challenging behaviours and work closely with teachers to support the classroom.

Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with SEMH, ASD, and challenging behaviour, ensuring their learning needs are met and milestones achieved. Work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver a structured, routine-based learning environment. Manage classroom behaviour and support strategies for challenging behaviours.

• Child and Adult DBS (required) or willing to apply for one
• Experience working with SEMH, ASD, Challenging Behaviour students
• A calm, patient, and caring personality
• A good understanding of child and adult protection and safeguarding guidelines
• Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and a small group basis
• Excellent classroom management
