About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking secondary school in Shropshrie. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator who can inspire students in Science, fostering curiosity, confidence, and a love for learning.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons, supporting student achievement, and contributing to the continued success of the Maths and Science departments.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
Teach Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support attainment.
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students.
Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
Support students in achieving their academic potential and developing problem-solving and analytical skills.
Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and school events.
Contribute to curriculum development and school improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Experience teaching Science in a secondary school setting.
Strong subject knowledge in Science.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

Experience teachingGCSE Science.
Ability to teach a Science specialism (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Knowledge of current curriculum developments and assessment practices.
Evidence of continued professional development.
