History Teacher

• Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging and purposeful History lessons.
• Teaching History across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach at Key Stage 5 where required.
• Creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity, debate and independent thinking.
• Developing students’ ability to analyse historical events, sources and interpretations.
• Supporting students to develop strong analytical, critical-thinking and communication skills.
• Differentiating and adapting lessons to meet the needs of pupils with SEND and other additional needs.
• Assessing, marking and providing constructive feedback to support student progress.
• Preparing students effectively for GCSE examinations and supporting strong academic outcomes.
• Developing students’ understanding of key historical periods, events, individuals and themes.
• Encouraging students to make connections between historical events and the wider social, political and cultural context.
• Working collaboratively within the History department to contribute to the continued success of the faculty.
• Supporting the wider development of students through positive relationships, high expectations and effective classroom management.

• History ECTs or fully qualified History Teachers.
• Experience teaching History within UK secondary school classrooms.
• Strong knowledge of the relevant History curriculum.
• Experience teaching GCSE History would be advantageous.
• A genuine passion for History and the ability to inspire curiosity and a love of learning.
• A calm, professional and engaging classroom presence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong classroom management and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
• Flexibility, reliability and a genuine commitment to supporting student progress.
