As a SHEQ Officer at AO Recycling, you’ll be a valued part of the team, helping us stay on top of safety, health, environmental, and quality standards. It’s a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with different teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and integrity to keep our people, planet, and processes running at their best.

Responsibilities
  • Hold or work towards NEBOSH Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent (essential)
  • Professional qualification in Environmental Management (e.g., IEMA, NEBOSH Environmental, or equivalent) (desirable)
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g., IOSH, IEMA, CIWM)
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a SHEQ role, ideally within recycling, manufacturing, or logistics
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards
  • Auditor or Lead Auditor qualification (desirable)
  • Strong understanding of UK SHE legislation and regulatory frameworks
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and influencing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and SHEQ management systems
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong leadership/engagement experience
  • Experience in processing, manufacturing, or a similar environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to think logically and decisively to provide effective solutions
  • Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
  • Adheres to the minimum company standard of English language
