Salary circa £42,000 depending on experience. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Tool Room Engineer in Telford to join a well-established manufacturing business operating within a modern workshop environment. This is a days-only role on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, offering a great work-life balance.The Role You will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of engineering and toolroom activities, supporting tooling maintenance, repair, and modification to ensure production efficiency and quality standards are maintained.Key
Responsibilities
- Interpreting engineering drawings to carry out repairs and modifications on tooling
- Working with a variety of workshop machinery, including:
- CNC wire erosion (preferred)
- Milling machines (manual & CNC)
- Centre lathe
- Surface grinders
- Laser welder (preferred)
- Supporting tooling issues and breakdowns when required
- Completing tasks efficiently and to a high standard
- Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards within the toolroom
- Working with minimal supervision while contributing positively within a team environment
- Adhering to all health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures
- Supporting continuous improvement within the toolroom
- Level 3 qualification in Engineering (or equivalent)
- Time-served apprenticeship (preferred)
- Strong engineering aptitude with experience in a toolroom environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience with CNC wire erosion and laser welding (advantageous but not essential)
- Good numeracy, literacy, and basic PC skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Reliable, punctual, and adaptable
- Clean, tidy, and organised approach to work
- Motivated to learn and develop new skills
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Positive attitude within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
