Job Responsibilities Multisite Role

The Maintenance Energy & Sustainability Leader will have a hands‑on style to deliver CCUK’s energy and sustainability goals, complying to ISO 50001, Magna’s internal MAFACT standards, and CCUK’s business management system. They will be fully up to date with the latest energy & sustainability policies and technologies and will be able to manage engineering projects from cradle to grave. This role will have multisite responsibility looking after CCUK and Cosma Telford.

Responsibilities

This role entails but is not limited to:

  • Promoting the company's HSE policies across the department and plant and adhering to all health and safety environmental requirements.
  • Energy Management:
    Determination of savings opportunities, carrying out profitability calculations for energy‑saving projects, continuous improvement of energy efficiency and reduction of energy demand through technical or organisational measures, use of renewable energy sources where possible, determination and utilisation of funding, awareness‑raising activities, responsibility for energy compliance and education.
  • Energy Monitoring & Cost Planning:
    Determination and recording of operational energy consumption and costs, preparation of consumption data for controlling, ongoing plausibility checks, detection of optimisation potentials, performing energy and media cost planning.
  • Mafact Energy Reduction:
    Responsibility for the Mafact 6.10 Energy Reduction questionnaire and related tasks, monthly energy team meetings, HSELinx metrics entries, updating trackers and boards, organising energy walks, reaching the Mafact 6.10 target score.
  • Benchmarking:
    Benchmark new or existing energy efficiency measures at other Magna plants or suppliers, examine innovative technologies, stay in contact with other Energy Champions and your Regional Global Energy Lead.
  • Sustainability Specific Responsibilities:
    Point of contact for sustainability topics, plan strategies to increase sustainability, implementation of Magna's GHG reduction strategies, life‑cycle assessment development, implementation of OEM sustainability requirements, awareness‑raising activities, education responsibility.
  • Sustainability Monitoring:
    Analyse and collect sustainability key indicator data, communicate challenges and forecasts, plausibility checks.
  • Sustainability Improvement:
    Responsibility for the Mafact 6.13 Sustainability Improvement questionnaire, attend group sustainability meetings, develop corrective action plans, create new initiatives, seek innovative waste, water and energy reduction solutions, put together business cases and calculate ROI.
Essential Experience
  • Working in a safety‑critical environment.
  • An engineering qualification (HNC and above).
  • Experience delivering energy‑saving projects in previous employment (examples will be requested).
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Broad understanding of ISO 50001 standards.
  • Proven organisational skills.
  • Broad knowledge of electrical, natural gas, and water energy‑saving technologies.
  • PC skills including Microsoft Office.
Desirable Experience
  • Engineering‑based degree qualification, preferably specialising in energy and/or sustainability.
Personal Attributes
  • Good problem‑solving skills.
  • Team player and promotes a team approach to problem solving.
