Senior Mechanical Engineer

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Mott Mac Donald Bentley, you will contribute to major water and wastewater schemes throughout all project phases—feasibility, design, construction, commissioning, and handover—within the UK water market.

• Lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater infrastructure and non‑infrastructure projects through outline and detailed design, construction, commissioning and handover, including P&IDs, valve schedules, pump calculations, safe access and lifting arrangements, and above‑ground pipework layouts.
• Coordinate with the project team comprising Electrical, Civil, Geotech and Process designers to ensure designs are completed on programme, within budget, and meet quality specifications.
• Work collaboratively with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout design stages and construction.
• Engage positively with the client, managing relationships and adopting a one‑team approach to support client objectives.
• Support the development of the mechanical engineering team by coaching and mentoring engineers, and by identifying the appropriate resources for projects.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Chartership (CEng) with a relevant Engineering Institution.
• Experience delivering high‑quality outputs in accordance with design, quality and safety standards.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region.
• Experience in water/wastewater is required.
