Role overviewAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Mott Mac Donald Bentley, you will contribute to major water and wastewater schemes throughout all project phases—feasibility, design, construction, commissioning, and handover—within the UK water market.
Responsibilities- Lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater infrastructure and non‑infrastructure projects through outline and detailed design, construction, commissioning and handover, including P&IDs, valve schedules, pump calculations, safe access and lifting arrangements, and above‑ground pipework layouts.
- Coordinate with the project team comprising Electrical, Civil, Geotech and Process designers to ensure designs are completed on programme, within budget, and meet quality specifications.
- Work collaboratively with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout design stages and construction.
- Engage positively with the client, managing relationships and adopting a one‑team approach to support client objectives.
- Support the development of the mechanical engineering team by coaching and mentoring engineers, and by identifying the appropriate resources for projects.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Chartership (CEng) with a relevant Engineering Institution.
- Experience delivering high‑quality outputs in accordance with design, quality and safety standards.
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region.
- Experience in water/wastewater is required.
