Nursing - Specialist MSK Hand Therapist

Role Overview

As a specialist band 6 hand therapist you will be integral to delivering MSK services at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust. You will have a varied caseload of both consultant and GP referrals, including acute trauma referrals and referrals for post operative rehabilitation, with a focus on providing quality rehabilitation to maximise daily function.

• Independently assess a range of hand conditions and formulate appropriate management plans in conjunction with the patient.
• Deliver treatments in individual appointments and group classes.
• Provide patient‑centred care and support optimal functional recovery.

• Band 6 MSK hand therapist, or occupational or physiotherapist with a special interest in hand therapy.
• Experience in managing acute and post‑operative hand conditions.

• Part of an experienced hand therapy unit within the outpatient therapy department.
• Collaborative team of band 5 to band 8B therapists and support workers.
• Monthly core day for CPD, mentorship, in‑service training, and staff meetings.
• Committed to CPD time, clinical outcomes, and a responsive patient‑focused service.
