We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse educated to degree level to join the adult bladder and bowel service. The successful applicant will have a passion for delivering high quality care to people with bladder and bowel dysfunction. You will be dynamic and caring with excellent communication skills as patient education and support is an important component of the job.
Prior experience and an in-depth knowledge of issues in complex bladder and bowel dysfunction is essential as is the promotion of continence care.
Working autonomously to triage, allocate work tasks, adhere to deadlines in order to provide high quality evidence based care.
Experience of change management, quality improvement process and recent ongoing nursing development is a requirement.
Knowledge of budgetary control, IQEW and clinical supervision is also a requirement of the post.
Clinical community experience would be desirable as would a knowledge of appraisal and HR skills, but not essential.

You must be able to produce ALL certificates stated essential in the person specification or you will not be able to complete pre-employment checks.
We provide hospital services from two acute sites – Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

The base for this post will be Innovation House, Bishop Auckland, this is a Countywide Community post.
Locality work will be required according to service need. This role involves a mixture of working within clinics, home visits, care homes and office environment.
The post will allow you to work in a specialist service and develop specialist skills / knowledge and expertise in bladder and bowel dysfunction.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an innovative and forward thinking community based team. You will make a valuable contribution to the way local bladder and bowel services are organised and delivered in order to provide high quality, cost effective services to people living in County Durham and Darlington.
The role is supportive of family friendly hours working predominantly Monday to Friday (day hours, eg: 08:30-16:30).
