Job Overview

Are you looking for an interesting and rewarding job with good work-life balance in a stunningly beautiful rural location within easy reach of the West Midlands conurbation? If so, we would like to welcome you to join our friendly, supportive team.

We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible, highly motivated and experienced Radiographers to join our very busy Cross Sectional team here at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. The successful applicant will be based at our Princess Royal Hospital Site, Telford, with rotation to our state of the art Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) in Stafford Park, Telford. The working pattern will be a mix of 12 and 7.5 hour duties over a 7 day roster.

The successful applicants must have a BSc (Hon) Diagnostic Radiography or DCR, current HCPC registration and preferably post graduate experience and competence in CT and MRI.

Main duties of the job
  • Carry out X-ray examinations safely and to a high standard, following all regulations.
  • Make sure images are clear and accurate while keeping radiation exposure as low as possible.
  • Work independently and manage your own workload, including out-of- hours and emergency duties.
  • Support senior radiographers and help train students and junior staff.
  • Care for patients throughout their visit, ensuring privacy, dignity, and clear communication.
  • Follow all hospital policies on safety, data protection, and equipment use.
Working for our organisation

We believe that compassionate care sits at the heart of everything we do. Every member of our team — clinical or non-clinical — plays a vital role in ensuring that patients, families, and colleagues are treated with dignity, empathy, and respect at all times.

We expect all staff to demonstrate compassion not only through their words, but through their actions: by listening attentively, communicating clearly and kindly, and recognising individual needs, feelings, and circumstances of those in our care.

Effective communication is central to safe and high-quality healthcare. We value colleagues who take the time to understand others, explain information in a meaningful way, and respond to concerns with patience and understanding.

Our Poppy’s Promise Commitment

By joining our team, you are committing to uphold these values — ensuring that every patient feels heard, respected, and valued, and that compassion is embedded in every interaction, every day.
