We are seeking an experienced Middleware Support Engineer to support a large-scale UK Government IT programme, responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and stability of complex application environments.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability and performance of core government systems across development and test estates, working with technologies including Web Logic, VME, Tuxedo, Host Talk, Unix, and SQL databases.

• Apply SQL schemas and packages across various environments, including 30 CESA VME STU, 40 CRS, and 20 SLP Web Logic environments.
• Manage and deploy SQL schemas, particularly focusing on VME schemas.
• Create and manage handovers for VME, Web Logic, and Host Talk environments.
• Perform upgrades and maintenance for dev/test environments.
• Rebuild Web Logic domains and edit properties files as needed.
• Deploy Host Talk MSI handovers and manage different versions for various projects.
• Perform housekeeping tasks, especially for Unix/Web Logic environments, and raise RFCs with Fujitsu for file system issues.

• Strong experience with SQL schema application and management.
• Knowledge of VME, Web Logic, Tuxedo, Windows, and SQL databases.
• Ability to solve problems related to VME, Web Logic, and Host Talk environments.
• Familiarity with deploying handovers and performing upgrades.
• Ability to rebuild Web Logic domains.
• Strong organizational skills for managing different versions of Host Talk and Gov Rules.
• Experience with Unix/Web Logic housekeeping.
