Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Platform Engineer

Salary: £35,000 - 75,000 per year

• We require strong, recent hands-on experience within the last 5 years in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle Exadata.
• We require a strong Oracle DBA and infrastructure background, including Oracle RDBMS, Oracle RAC, ASM, AFD, HANFS, TAF, Data Guard, RMAN, OEM, and OCI Database Management.
• We require experience with patching, upgrades, and high-availability support in mission-critical environments.
• We require strong OCI experience as a critical requirement.
• We require AWS experience, especially in network segregation and security.
• We require experience in Linux and/or AIX environments.
• We require Infrastructure as Code experience, including Terraform and Ansible, with the ability to debug.
• We require knowledge of cloud network segmentation, data encryption in transit and at rest, OIDC authentication, and Git repository management.
• We require experience with data migration tools and methods such as Datapump, Golden Gate, ZDM, and migration testing in Oracle/AWS environments.
• We require proven experience supporting enterprise-scale, mission-critical database platforms.
• We prefer experience with Oracle Multitenant, TDE, TLS, Exadata configuration and optimisation.

• We lead and support Oracle-based infrastructure services in OCI and Exadata environments.
• We provide BAU operational support alongside complex design and problem-solving.
• We act as a technical SME and escalation point, including major incident management.
• We support team upskilling and knowledge sharing.
• We contribute to cloud and infrastructure strategy and delivery.
• We support highly available enterprise database platforms and help ensure operational stability.

We are hiring a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for a 12-month contract in a hybrid Blackpool/Newcastle location. This is a high-profile programme where you will work closely with Oracle-based infrastructure services across OCI and Exadata, contributing both to operational support and strategic delivery. You will join a team focused on enterprise-scale, mission-critical environments, with opportunities to act as a senior technical specialist, support major incidents, and help upskill the wider team.
