This is an exciting opportunity to join Telford & Wrekin Council's Transport Team, responsible for delivering safe, reliable, sustainable and innovative transport services that provide excellent value for money to residents across the borough.
RoleCasual Drivers will operate minibuses that provide specialist transport services for a wide range of passengers, including children with special educational needs, adults with disabilities, social care clients and members of the public accessing bespoke transport services.
Responsibilities include:
- Operating minibuses to ensure safe, comfortable journeys for all passengers.
- Working closely with Passenger Assistants and the Passenger Transport Office Team to maintain safety, comfort and dignity of every passenger.
- Desirable: D1 licence, or willingness to obtain this qualification.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Positive and flexible attitude, strong commitment to high standards of customer care.
- Reliable team player, enjoys working with people from diverse backgrounds.
Role operates on a split‑shift basis with typical working hours of:
- Morning shift: 7:15 am – 9:30 am
- Afternoon shift: 2:30 pm – 4:15 pm
