Purchasing Administrator – Telford, Permanent, £27,000 – £29,000 per annum, Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week.

We are seeking a proactive and organised Purchasing Administrator to join a busy procurement and materials team supporting a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring purchasing activities are completed efficiently, accurately, and within agreed timescales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process material requirements to support production schedules.
  • Obtain competitive pricing and accurate supplier lead times.
  • Raise, monitor and expedite purchase orders.
  • Build and maintain positive supplier relationships.
  • Negotiate pricing and delivery schedules where appropriate – however this is minimal as most suppliers will already have rates agreed.
  • Monitor stock levels to support manufacturing requirements while maintaining agreed inventory levels.
  • Manage call‑off orders and pricing agreements.
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure purchasing activities align with operational deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
Qualifications
  • Methodical individual with excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Good commercial awareness and confident negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
  • A proactive, positive approach to problem‑solving.
  • Experience using an ERP system (SAP experience advantageous but not essential).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Self‑motivated with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
  • Strong team player with a good work ethic.
  • Ability to take ownership and accountability for assigned responsibilities.
