Family Connect Safeguarding Team Manager Job Introduction
The Family Connect Safeguarding Team Manager (Social Worker) is a full‑time position of 37 hours per week, permanent, based in Telford. The role includes a market factor allowance of £3,000, full reimbursement of the annual Social Work England registration fee, and an incentive Golden Hello of £5,000 paid in two instalments.
ResponsibilitiesThe manager is responsible for leadership, management, supervision, accountability and quality assurance for a group of social work and other staff within a specific service area to ensure consistent high standards and alignment with council priorities. The manager leads the systemic approach to work with children, young people and families, promotes the programme, and engages in safeguarding and early help decisions as part of a multi‑agency partnership.
The manager undertakes duties expected of social work managers in line with the Professional Capabilities Framework at advanced level.
Qualifications and RequirementsApplicants must have an enhanced DBS check and be able to demonstrate English language fluency in line with the English Language Fluency Duty. Experience in safeguarding, supervising staff, and working with children and families is essential.
