Calibration Technician – Mechanical & Dimensional Metrology

📍 Telford | On-site
💷 £20–23 p/h (depending on experience)
🕐 12-month contract (likely to extend)

Are you a mechanical or dimensional calibration specialist who enjoys working with precision measurement equipment? Do you take pride in accuracy, traceability and doing things properly?

We’re supporting a well-established Telford Service Centre that calibrates and maintains precision mechanical and dimensional measuring equipment used across manufacturing, aerospace, automotive and engineering environments.

🛠️ What you’ll be working with

You’ll be hands-on with equipment such as:

🔹 Micrometers
🔹 Verniers & calipers
🔹 Dial & height gauges
🔹 Torque wrenches & torque tools
🔹 Pressure & displacement instruments
🔹 Dimensional and mechanical fixtures

Most work is lab-based in Telford, with occasional customer site visits (typically less than 25%).

🧰 What you’ll be doing

✔️ Calibrating, validating and verifying mechanical & dimensional instruments
✔️ Carrying out minor fault-finding, adjustments and repairs
✔️ Completing calibration certificates, traceability records and reports
✔️ Working to defined procedures and quality standards
✔️ Communicating with customers and internal teams on calibration status

🎯 What we’re looking for

You’ll come from a mechanical, dimensional or torque calibration background, such as:

• UKAS / ISO
17025 lab

• Aerospace or automotive metrology

• Manufacturing or quality inspection

• Service or calibration laboratory

You’ll be comfortable using precision measurement tools and working in a structured, accuracy-driven environment.
