Job Purpose:

The role of the Extrusion Shift Manager is to provide Telford Manufacturing with management of the people, process and product. They will have the responsibility for leading the manufacturing production team to achieve schedules & deadlines, product quality, product cost and employee safety. The ideal candidate will have a clean, neat and tidy approach to work, be punctual and adaptable, have the ability to work on their own initiative or as part of a larger team, be driven and motivated to learn and develop new skills.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Adherence to all organisational policies, management systems and standard operational procedures, including legal responsibilities in relation to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality.
  • Work positively to develop and foster good working relationships with colleagues and contracted personnel in order to maintain a culture of mutual respect and dignity.
  • Represent the organisation in a positive way as to avoid the damage of corporate image or bringing the company into disrepute. Promote and Display the Epwin Core Values.
  • Ensure completion of all company documentation.
  • Extrusion hall housekeeping is maintained at the required standard
  • Communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.
  • Development of staff using business PDR process.
  • Management of overtime budget
  • Ensure risk assessments are carried out as per schedule
  • Continually monitor and improve where necessary, staff behaviour.
  • Ensure all accidents and near misses are investigated.

    Actively manage HSE by carrying out regular area walks.
  • Maintain levels of personal competence through CPD.
  • Champion continual improvement activity and act as a change agent.
  • Maintain a flexible approach to operations
  • Transfer the knowledge and skills amongst the team (others).
  • Where necessary develop factory, improvement plans to improve efficiency.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and build strong working relationships with customers (Internal + External)
  • Liaise with support services to solve work problems
  • Ensure plans and deadlines are met.
  • Ensure all product inspections are completed as per the company’s product quality plan
Key Experiences and

Skills Required:
  • Good level of numeracy, literacy and ability with Microsoft software. Good / Strong communication skills.
  • ILM Level 3 or equivalent
  • NVQ Management Level 4
  • IOSH Managing safely
  • Knowledge of Lean Principles/Continual Improvement (Desirable)
Desirables Skills, Qualifications and Experience

Required:
  • At least 3 years previous experience as a shift manager
  • ILM 3 or equivalent
