Join us as our new CNC Operator III

The CNC Operator III is a senior role that has a strong knowledge of CNC Machines, material types and programs and acts as a mentor and trainer for level I & II operators. They are responsible for the setup, operation and troubleshooting of CNC Lathes and Mills and will support the shift supervisor with daily production schedules and duties.

What you’ll do
  • Set up, adjust, calibrate, and maintain CNC mills, lathes, fixtures, and trunnions.
  • Support machine maintenance, rework diagnosis, troubleshooting, and alarm recovery.
  • Load materials, run scheduled jobs through MES, and update operational/job progression data.
  • Inspect machined parts, cutting tools, and fixtures to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Manage tooling, stock levels, replacements, and waste disposal as required.
  • Assist with tool changes, NC helpers, macro variables, probe replacement, and MRS updates.
  • Support new machine setups, process changes, and launches of new equipment/processes.
  • Maintain machining centres and work areas to high standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency.
  • Carry out daily safety checks, including E‑stop and door checks.
  • Provide technical feedback to engineering, designers, and management on machining issues.
  • Mentor and train Level I & II operators on technical aspects.
  • Follow company procedures, contribute to continuous improvement, and complete additional assigned tasks.
Education and Experience
  • 3+ years experience in CNC Machining essential, including setting and operating CNC machines.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of CNC manufacturing – specifically CNC Lathes is essential.
  • Able to work safely with sharp and heavy objects (e.g., utility knives, plastic / metal blocks).
  • Good written and oral communication skills and able to do basic arithmetic.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to continuous learning.
  • Able to use chemicals in accordance with safety standards.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize work in an effective manner.
  • Able to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented work environment.
  • Must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Able to comprehend and follow printed and computer‑screen instructions, and direction from supervisors or technical leads.
