Mechanical Fitter

Location:

Telford
Pay: £16-17 an hour - Dependant on Experience

Hours:

Monday - Friday , with overtime available (Contract)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our clients well-established engineering business based in Telford. This is an excellent opportunity to work on the assembly of high-quality machinery within a busy manufacturing environment.

The Role As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling mechanical components and machinery to a high standard while working from engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics.

Key Responsibilities
Mechanical fitting and assembly of machinery and components.
Installation of hydraulic components and pipework.
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics.
Using a variety of engineering hand and power tools.
Producing high-quality work within agreed production timescales.
Reporting any material shortages or production issues.
Maintaining a safe and organised working environment.
Completing general workshop duties as required.
Keeping accurate records and timesheets.
Assisting with forklift and overhead crane operations where required.
Supporting and mentoring apprentices when needed.
Working in line with Health & Safety and Quality procedures.
Undertaking any other reasonable duties required by management.
What We're Looking For
Recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship with an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) preferred.
Alternatively, strong mechanical fitting experience within a similar engineering or manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Understanding of hydraulic schematics.
Confident using engineering hand tools and power tools.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills.
Flexible approach to overtime, including occasional weekends when required
