SCOMAC CATERING EQUIPMENT LTD - FABRICATOR WELDER - RAF-4215 Sco Mac Catering Equipment Ltd is one of the largest independent commercial catering manufacturers / suppliers within the U.K, to which you can trace back over 120 years. An excellent and varied opportunity has arisen to recruit for an experienced Fabricator/Welder to complement our existing team. Based in Livingston, Scotland this role reports directly to the Senior Production Manager.

This role is responsible for manufacturing and installing custom counters and fitments for the commercial catering industry. Other duties involved in this role are as follows:
Main duties will include:
Read and interpret engineering drawings. TIG weld thin sheet metal, including stainless steel. Using hand tools and polishing equipment, sand and polish to a high standards matching the finish of the sheet/box section. Assemble components by mechanical means other than welding. Be able to use a guillotine, press brake, chop saws and all workshop machinery as and when required. Maintain and ensure equipment is safe, clean and in good working order, reporting any defaults that may arise.

Ensure work areas are kept clean and tidy, adhering to Health and Safety procedures and policies at all times. Any other duties commensurate within this position and skill set required.

Skills & Experience Required:

Experience of working on a shop floor environment, (ideally within sheet metal) and or a similar role is a distinct advantage along . Must be capable of welding thin stainless-steel sheets from 1mm to 2mm in thickness. Metal polishing experience would be an advantage. Possess knowledge of fitting and assembling.

Experience of using Press Brake equipment is preferred, but not essential, as this enables a greater level of flexibility within this role. Must be flexible to attend site as and when required. Be able to agree and meet reasonable time scales for the work required. Have the ability to work within a team or on your own initiative, able to solve problems.
