Are you an experienced Tooling Engineer / Toolmaker with hands-on experience maintaining and repairing injection moulding tooling?

We're looking for a skilled engineer to join the Tooling team, working on a wide range of injection moulding tools, hot runner systems and tooling equipment in a busy manufacturing environment.

Commutable from Wolverhampton, Oswestry, Market Drayton, Shrewsbury, Rugeley, Cannock, Telford, Bridgnorth, Stafford and Penkridge

Duties
  • You'll be responsible for keeping production tooling running smoothly
  • Carrying out both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs, diagnosing breakdowns and supporting new tool and product trials.
  • Servicing, maintaining and repairing injection moulding tools
  • Diagnosing and resolving tooling breakdowns to minimise production downtime
  • Working with sequential gate hot runner systems
  • Working with hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders associated with tooling and hot runner systems
  • Using lathes, milling machines and surface grinding equipment
  • Basic electrical knowledge relating to tool heating and controls
  • Planning jobs and ensuring the correct tools, equipment and spares are available
  • Supporting production during new tool and product trials
Requirements
  • Mechanical / fitting apprenticeship or equivalent engineering training
  • Previous experience working with injection moulding tooling
  • Good knowledge of hot runner systems, ideally sequential gate systems
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic tooling systems
  • Practical workshop experience using lathes, milling machines and surface grinders
  • Basic electrical understanding
  • Ability to diagnose problems and work efficiently under pressure
  • Crane operating experience would be advantageous, but not essential
