An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced CNC Machinists to join a growing specialist manufacturing business supplying precision components and electro-mechanical assemblies into the semiconductor, vacuum technology and scientific instrumentation sectors.
Due to continued growth and the introduction of a new shift pattern, we are recruiting for both a CNC Miller and a CNC Turner to join a highly skilled production team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on technically challenging components within an innovative business operating in future-focused industries.
Duties of a CNC Machinist:- Set and operate CNC milling or turning machines to customer drawing specifications
- Interpret engineering drawings and customer requirements accurately
- Perform machine set-ups, tool changes and program adjustments as required
- Edit CNC programs to ensure quality and efficiency standards are achieved
- Use precision measuring equipment to inspect finished components
- Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and productivity
- Work closely with Production Engineers and colleagues to identify process improvements
- Ensure all work is completed in line with company health and safety procedures
- Support continuous improvement activities throughout production
- Previous experience as a CNC Machinist, CNC Miller or CNC Turner
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
- Experience setting and operating CNC machinery
- Knowledge of one or more of the following control systems:
- Heidenhain
- XYZ Protrak
- XYZ Proturn
- Fanuc
- Competent using a variety of measuring and inspection equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Programming experience would be beneficial but is not essential as training can be provided
