Acorns Children's Hospice are looking for a Children's Palliative Clinical Lead to join the team in our Hospice in Birmingham. As Clinical Lead, you will manage a multi-disciplinary team, develop programmes of care and provide nursing care to children and young people with a range of complex health needs, life limiting or life-threatening conditions.

As Children's Palliative Clinical Lead, you will:

• Manage and be responsible for the supervision and development of a large multi-disciplinaryteamconsistingofallgradesofnursingstaff,students and support workers
• Manageand co-ordinate the clinical area,participating in direct patient care and supervision of staff.
• Demonstrate expertise in symptom management and end of life care including after death care, to support staff to develop skills
• Participateinthe development and implementation of newinitiativesand contribute to the advancement of clinical practice within the hospice
• Promote communication with the children and young people, encouraging them to express their wishes and concerns to their best ability (this may include non-verbal, electronic or alternative communication methods)

• Registered Nurse
• Non-medical prescriber (or willing to undertake)
• Experience of palliative care
• Ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of clinical skills to include IV therapy, patient assessment skills, airway management and to develop further skills as required.

• £46,920 to £53,040 per annum

You need to be eligible to work in the UK to be considered for this role.
