We are recruiting for Children's Nursing Assistants at Band 3 to join our team on Ward 19 - Paediatrics.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys being an integral part of a ward team, someone who can work under pressure, manage tasks, be kind, show initiative and has a positive attitude towards work. The successful candidate will have experience of working with children in hospital, excellent communication and organisational skills and a positive approach to change.

The Children’s Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a member of the care team appointed to support registered practitioners in delivering identified nursing support for specific care, to a defined group of patients with
specific medical and/or mental health needs.
The post-holder will undertake a range of activities under the indirect supervision of an appropriately qualified or professionally registered practitioner, having received training and being assessed as competent in the activities required, working within a degree of initiative and within a set framework, reporting to the accountable nurse.
Participating in assessment of care and reporting assessments to accountable nurse.
To be an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team caring for children and liaising with other specialties as required

The Children’s Unit at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford is a 36 bedded (including a 3 bed oncology unit), acute general paediatric ward caring for children aged 0-17 years with medical, surgical, orthopaedic, mental and oncology conditions.

Our Service will relocate to The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital in 2028 as part of HTP. This move will bring specialist services together in a modern, purpose-built facility to improve patient care and team experience.

We are actively recruiting, and successful candidates will be expected to move with the Service in early 2028. The relocation will follow a formal management of change process, including full consultation and support for staff.
