Salary & Hours
Our Tesco colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour; this increases to £14.55 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
It is our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week. If you would like to work fewer hours (a minimum of 12), we also have opportunities for you.
AvailabilityWe require you to be available for shift work during specific periods of the week. We schedule your contracted hours within these times and provide you with at least three weeks' notice of your shifts. Flexibility outside the advertised times may still be considered.
Key Responsibilities- Help serve shoppers better every day.
- Meet great people, learn new things, and be part of a specialist, diverse team where everyone is welcome.
- Operate across the store in our service, picking and replenishment areas where required.
- Apply the training you have received so that we all work safely, effectively, and serve our customers brilliantly.
- Make decisions that are right for customers, delivering routines in store that meet their needs at the right time.
- Take part in seasonal, community, and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere.
- Understand your store's performance, know what the store team needs to do together to drive service and sales, reduce waste and shrink, and deliver profit.
- Handle products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in the best condition.
- Represent our values, welcome everyone, and follow our policies.
- Accept deliveries into the store when required.

- Passionate about delivering great service, greeting customers with a smile, and serving them with pride.
- Build rapport with customers so they leave the store having experienced a great shopping trip.

- Be ready to accept delivery responsibilities when needed.
