Area Sales Engineer

Job Summary

Area Sales Engineer for Industrial Electrical Connection Solutions, Switchgear, Power Distribution and ATEX Products. Salary is £50,000–£55,000 basic with £15,000 bonus, plus company car, health insurance, mobile, laptop, 25 days annual leave and statutory holidays.

• Manage the sales territory across the Western/M6 corridor of England, including Wales; oversee existing accounts and drive new business development.
• Maintain and further develop relationships with distribution partners, selling the company’s full portfolio to end users, OEMs, system integrators, panel builders, distributors and wholesale resellers across industry sectors.
• Identify suitable projects and industry sector targets, achieve specification or preferred supplier status, and follow through to order stage.

• Current or recent experience as an Area Sales Engineer, Field Sales, Area Sales Manager, Sales Representative or Business Development Manager in the electrical industrial sector.
• Strong technical sales background selling electrical products and components; ideally with a niche manufacturer.
• Technical qualification highly desirable in an Electrical/Electronic Engineering discipline or equivalent industry experience that demonstrates technical ability of the controls industry and components.
• End‑user and specification sales experience, commercial flair, and proven ability to work with consultants, major contractors and to achieve order stage.

Home based / field based. Ideal locations for candidates:
