Job Title:
Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Care
Location:
Telford, Shropshire, West Midlands / England
Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 per annum + £5,000 welcome bonus + £5,000 annual bonus

We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead our children’s residential care service in Telford. This role involves managing two OFSTED-rated Good homes that support children with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, and behavioural challenges. As a key part of our team, you will ensure the delivery of high-quality, personalised care in a nurturing environment, promoting the wellbeing and development of every young person.
Key Responsibilities- Developing and implementing comprehensive care plans tailored to each young person’s needs.
- Building and maintaining a strong, motivated team through recruitment, induction, and ongoing development.
- Fostering consultation with young people to ensure their voices are heard and respected.
- Assigning Key Workers and overseeing the delivery of care in line with regulatory standards.
- Monitoring and maintaining high standards of care, ensuring compliance with OFSTED and other regulatory bodies.
- Handling complaints, safeguarding concerns, and child protection issues promptly and effectively.
- Collaborating with parents, carers, and external professionals to support the young people’s welfare.
- Participating in care planning, review meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promoting a safe, inclusive, and positive culture within the homes.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in residential care for children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
- Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care is essential.
- Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is preferred; if not held, enrolment within 6 months of starting is required.
- Strong understanding of childcare legislation, regulatory standards, and quality standards.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and team leadership skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and managing children with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties.
- A full UK manual driving licence.
