Position: Social Work Senior Social Worker - Family Safeguarding Shropshire Up to £33.30 / hour

** Telford & Wrekin Council is seeking a dedicated Senior Social Worker to join their Family Safeguarding Team. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive service, making a real difference to children and families while managing complex safeguarding cases.

As a Senior Social Worker, you will be responsible for managing a varied and complex caseload, undertaking assessments, care planning, and delivering effective interventions to ensure positive outcomes for children and families.
** Key Responsibilities
*** Manage a diverse and complex caseload within Family Safeguarding.
* Complete assessments, care planning, and interventions to support children and families.
* Assess and manage risk, making informed, evidence-based decisions.
* Contribute to safeguarding processes and court proceedings where required.
* Apply relevant legislation, policies, and best practice to deliver child-focused services.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with children, families, and multi-agency professionals.
* Deliver a range of interventions and review outcomes, adapting plans where necessary.
* Maintain accurate records and produce high-quality reports, including court documentation.
* Undertake preventative work aimed at reducing risk and strengthening family resilience.
* Support multi-agency working and contribute to continuous service improvement.
** Requirements
* ** Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
* Minimum 3 years post-qualified experience working within Children's Services.
* Strong experience in safeguarding, assessments, child protection, and care planning.
* Ability to manage complex caseloads and make sound professional decisions.
* Excellent knowledge of relevant children's social care legislation, policies, and frameworks.
* Strong communication, assessment, and relationship-building skills.
* Commitment to continuous professional development.
* This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975. A DBS check may be applicable for this role, applicants are required to declare any cautions and convictions that are not protected under current filtering rules.
