The roleAs a Customer Service Driver, you'll be at the heart of a critical military vehicle repair and maintenance operation, helping to ensure vital defence assets remain available and operational. This is much more than a driving role. You'll be responsible for safely transporting military vehicles and equipment between Ministry of Defence sites, workshops and customers, directly supporting operational readiness and customer delivery.
Day-to-dayyou'll be required to:
- Drive military vehicles and assets between Ministry of Defence sites, workshops and operational locations.
- Carry out vehicle collections, deliveries, handovers and inspections in line with safety procedures.
- Support loading and unloading activities while ensuring compliance with transport regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements and updating operational systems.
- Report faults, defects and safety concerns to support fleet availability and operational effectiveness.
The role is based onsite at Donnington, and the set working times are 72 hours per fortnight on a 9-day fortnight pattern. Week 1:
Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:20pm. Week 2:
Monday to Thursday, 7:30am to 3:20pm, with every other Friday off.
- Experience driving and operating a range of vehicles, ideally including Heavy Goods Vehicles Class C vehicles.
- Experience working with Ministry of Defence A and B vehicles or similar heavy vehicle fleets.
- Experience carrying out vehicle handovers, collections, deliveries and asset movements in a safety-critical environment.
- Knowledge of transport, vehicle safety and compliance requirements.
- Experience maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Heavy Goods Vehicle Class C Licence.
- Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
