About the RoleThe Human Resources Manager plays a key leadership role in planning and administering policies and programs related to all phases of human resources. This position supports compliance, employee relations, talent development, compensation, and benefits administration—while fostering a positive workplace culture aligned with Mulzer’s values.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and reporting requirements
- Recruit, interview, and select candidates for designated positions
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation programs
- Maintain accurate HR records related to benefits, personnel actions, and regulatory reporting
- Coordinate management training on interviewing, hiring, promotions, terminations, safety, and harassment prevention
- Advise leadership on employee relations matters and resolution strategies
Respond to employee and management inquiries regarding policies and programs - Administer performance review and salary administration programs to ensure equity and compliance
- Oversee benefits programs including vacation, sick leave, leaves of absence, and employee assistance
- Conduct wage and labor market surveys to ensure competitive compensation
- Prepare HR department budgets and reports
- Conduct exit interviews and prepare separation documentation
- Analyze absenteeism and turnover trends and recommend improvement strategies
- Represent the organization in personnel-related hearings and investigations
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university OR
- Five (5) years of related HR experience OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong understanding of HR laws, regulations, and best practices
- Ability to analyze and interpret legal, financial, and technical documents
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to present information to senior leadership and external audiences
- Strong reasoning and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and integrity
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and arms
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to perform basic physical movements such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, or climbing
- Vision abilities include close and distance vision
