Van Avery Prep is seeking an enthusiastic and flexible Substitute Teacher. This on‑call position requires the ability to step into a classroom and ensure the smooth delivery of the day’s lesson plans in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
Responsibilities- Follow and implement lesson plans left by the regular classroom teacher
- Maintain classroom management, ensuring a positive and nurturing learning environment
- Supervise students in the classroom and other school areas as needed
- Keep the classroom orderly and clean during coverage
- For long‑term assignments, develop and deliver lesson plans aligned with school goals and curriculum
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a seamless educational experience
- Uphold the school’s values, promoting respect, dignity, and responsibility in all interactions
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field preferred
- Prior experience in a classroom setting, especially with elementary and middle school students, highly desirable
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and punctuality
- Flexibility and adaptability to manage diverse classroom situations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Patience, professionalism, and a positive attitude
- Ability to maintain discipline and a structured learning environment
- Cooperative, team‑oriented, and strong interpersonal skills
