Mechanical Engineer –
Wencor Group LLC – Temecula, California, United States
Pay Range: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 / year
Overview of the PositionThe Repairs Engineer will oversee the development, documentation, and deployment of FAA/Operator approved repair parts and procedures. The Repairs Engineer has the responsibility and authority to perform assigned tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develop repairs for aerospace components (PMA, DER, ERP, OOP)
- Develop and apply creative solutions to all forms of problems including engineering, technology, supply chain, communication, and process flow
- Use standard measurement tools such as a micrometer, caliper, depth gage, thread gage, radius gage, comparator, and CMM/Precision Arm to gather dimensional data
- Perform or determine correct material composition/analysis requirements
- Create 3D CAD models and dimensional data reports from reverse engineering data
- Prepare written procedures for test equipment and test plans, and develop or assist with development of test equipment
- Source appropriate vendors, organize/excute quote requirements and quotes data
- Manage multiple reverse engineering projects simultaneously
- Create drawings, reports, data packages to submit for approval to FAA and customers
- Other duties may be assigned
- Capable of reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, CMMs, customer specifications, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, and trigonometry
- Capacity to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Organized and detail oriented
- Ability to work with and draw from a variety of materials and technical applications
- Demonstrated design experience of mechanical or electrical components
- Computer skills:
Microsoft Office Suite and Wencor production ERP system (Quantum) - Strong experience with 3D CAD modeling, with Solid Works experience preferred
- Experience with FAA DER process, FAA certification process of PMA parts, and FAA regulatory guidance applicable to PMA parts
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering
- 1-2 years minimum applicable design experience and training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
